City of Medford Leaf Collection Program

Fall is in the air – and millions of leaves are on the ground. The solution? Leaf pick up from Rogue Disposal & Recycling at no additional charge.

To participate, scoop your leaves into heavy-duty plastic bags (33-gallon yard bags work best), tie the bags shut and carry them to your curb in the public right of way. If you don’t have a curb, place your bags off the roadway, approximately eight feet from the pavement. Then every few weeks, a crew will be by to pick up your bagged leaves (see map for schedule).

Since leaf collection is not associated with trash collection, it will not necessarily occur on your regular trash day. When it’s your zone’s week or day for collection, make sure your leaf bags are out no later than 6:30 a.m. Monday morning.

Rake in the savings.

Anyone within the Medford city limits are eligible for leaf pickup. You can use your own 33-gallon bags, or while supplies last,  you can pick up 10 bags at no cost and a maximum of 30 bags for $1 at the Rogue Disposal Customer Service Center, One West Main Street, Medford,  Suite 401, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Saturday and Sunday). Park on the street, then take the elevator in the lobby to the 4th floor. Bags will NOT be available at the City of Medford Engineering office.

Leaf logistics.

Leaves – and only leaves – must be placed in heavy-duty plastic bags. Due to a Medford city ordinance, loose leaves cannot be collected. There is no limit to the number of bags you can set out. Bagged leaves must be out in the public right of way prior to the collection week. Crews will not pick up bags containing tree branches, lawn clippings or other debris. Filled bags should not weigh more than 40 pounds each. Be sure to seal the top of y our bags to prevent rain water from getting in and making the bag even heavier.

If you use a yard maintenance service, it’s up to you to make sure they follow these guidelines. If you live in a mobile home park, call your manager for collection information.

Pick up your leaf bags ONLY at the Rogue Disposal Customer Service Center:
1 West Main, Medford, Suite 401 (Mon – Fri 8am – 5pm)
