New pipeline to save money and improve the environment

Rogue Disposal & Recycling is installing a new leachate pipeline that will save up to $400,000 a year as well as reduce truck emissions. The pipeline, which will run from the Dry Creek Landfill to a water treatment facility, will be finished by the end of December.

Currently, Rogue Disposal drivers haul 6,000,000 gallons of leachate per year to a wastewater treatment facility at 6,000 gallons per load. The leachate is collected in a pond at the landfill. The current method of disposal is costly to haul, adds heavy usage to public roads, and emissions into the Rogue Valley. By creating an efficient pipeline, at a one-time cost of $900,000, it will save customers money in the long run, lower emissions, and reduce road wear.
