Dry Creek Landfill Operations Specialist

As Operations Specialist, you are responsible for supporting day to day operations for Dry Creek Landfill, Rogue Compost, and Oregon Environmental Industries, LLC.

Key Position Responsibilities and Accountability

  • Provides clerical and administrative support to the operations department including various filing, data entry, processing invoices and credit card
  • Answers phones and customer questions
  • Report and respond to customer service related issues
  • Provides Scale House Operations lunch support and vacation relief
  • Completes regulatory reporting for solid waste permits through maintaining operations information
  • Keeps asbestos records and distributes ASN-4 forms
  • Assists in generating monthly productivity reports
  • Supports special waste program including developing profiles in scale house software and training new customers
  • Assists billing department in distributing price increase notifications
  • Creates and distributes Blast Notification Letters and other “neighbor” communication as needed
  • Supports vehicle maintenance including Dossier data as required
  • Assists Environmental Technician in tracking environmental monitoring and regulatory reporting including compliance tasks for Operations
  • Provides technical support for GPS system on heavy equipment
  • Contributes to cross functional team effort by accomplishing assigned tasks as needed

  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate and edit in English
  • Competent computer skills including data sets, Word, Google Earth, Adobe and Excel with the ability to learn new programs
  • Communicates effectively and consistently inside and outside the organization
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple priorities
  • Follow job related health and safety requirements and procedures
  • Required at times to wear personal protective equipment as needed (safety glasses, boots, vest, respirator, etc.)

Conditions of Employment

Candidates for this position must meet the above requirements and successfully pass pre-employment physical examinations, including a drug screen and background check

Division/Department: Dry Creek Landfill, Inc

Reports to: Division Manager

Location: Dry Creek Landfill

Employee Status: non-union/non-exempt/at will

Work Schedule: Scheduled work is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Additional work required as needed. Work day includes 30 minute, unpaid, meal period and two paid 15 minute breaks.

Probationary Period: 90 days

Benefits

Wages: $18.00 to $24.00 per hour
