Rogue celebrates Central Point in the annual Fourth of July parade
The red, white and blue were out in full force during the city of Central Point’s annual July 4th parade. A highlight of this year’s Freedom Festival, the 90-minute parade wound its way through the center of town, with thousands of patriotic area residents lining the streets. Rogue’s entry included two different trucks — a front loader, driven by Jamie Montague, and a Rogue Shred truck, piloted by Dave Warden and Alex Perez.
Halfway through the parade, the crowd was treated to a fly-by from two F-15 Eagle fighter jets from the 173rd Fighter Wing out of Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls. The 173rd FW is home to the sole F-15C pilot training facility for the United States Air Force. This colorful, patriotic and pride-stirring parade was enjoyed throughout the community.
Paying tribute to America’s birthday
The July 4th parade was just part of this year’s Freedom Fest. The day began with a pancake breakfast, followed by a 4K Run 4 Freedom and a kids fun run. After the parade, the Freedom Festival at Pfaff Park swung into high gear with kids activities, food vendors, artisan booths, old-fashioned contests and live music. The grand finale? The Boomfest! at the Expo fireworks display that took to the skies at dark and created plenty of oohs and ahhs.
It was a wonderful way to observe the Fourth of July and Rogue was happy to be a part of it. A big thank you to everyone who showed up to wave, cheer and celebrate this special family event.
