Cart Pickup Schedule
Recycling is collected every-other week on the same day your garbage is collected. If you also have yard debris recycling (green lid roll cart), your commingled household recycling will be picked up on alternating weeks.
Recycling Basics
Because a robotic arm is used to empty your cart, there are a few key things to keep in mind to ensure collection.
- DO NOT bag your recyclables.
- Make sure the cart is level-full. Everything must fit completely inside the cart and the lid must be closed.
- Have your cart out by 6:30 am on your scheduled pickup day. Place the roll cart with the wheels flush against the sidewalk or shoulder — or up on the sidewalk if you have a bike lane — with the white arrows pointing toward the street.
- Make sure everything inside the roll cart is able to fall freely when the cart is emptied.
- Keep the cart 3’ from other carts and clear from obstructions — including 10’ away from trees, basketball hoops and power lines. Carts should be spaced at least 5’ away from cars.
If it’s not a yes, it’s a NO!
Keep it clean!
Rinse all milk jugs and food cans to keep the recyclable materials free from food contamination. Make sure the cardboard is clean, too.
Keep it loose!
Please do NOT bag your recyclables. Just toss them directly into the cart.
When in doubt, leave it out!
In order to keep the recycling stream free from contamination, a good rule of thumb for recycling is: when in doubt, leave it out.
Materials Accepted
Corrugated Cardboard

Tin and Aluminum Cans
(rinsed out, no lids)

I just moved and I have a ton of cardboard boxes. Help!
No problem! You can recycle all your corrugated cardboard boxes — for no charge — at our Transfer Station. Click here for directions.
If you have curbside recycling with us, you can also break the cardboard boxes down and put them in your red-lid roll cart. Remember, the cart must be level-full, so the cardboard needs to fit inside. It also needs to be corrugated cardboard — the kind with the wavy center. If you have too many to fit into the cart, break them down so they’re no larger than 3’ x 3’, bundle them with string or twine, and set them next to your recycling cart at the curb. The driver will remove the bundles.

Can I recycle my Christmas tree?
Yes! If you already use our yard debris recycling service, just cut up the tree and put it in your roll cart to be composted. Please note we cannot take any trees that are flocked and all decorations and tinsel must be removed.
If you’d like our drivers to pick up your tree, you need to call our office to schedule the pickup and authorize the charge. To schedule a pickup, call 541.779.4161.
You can also drop off your Christmas tree at the Transfer Station. Just make sure there’s no flocking, no ornaments and no tinsel. As this is considered yard debris, the drop-off cost is $11.80.
And remember, the Boy Scouts and other community groups also offer tree collection and disposal.
