Rogue nominates John Stillwell for Driver of the Year

At Rogue Disposal & Recycling, safety first is at the heart of everything we do, and it shows throughout the Rogue team. When it came time to nominate someone in the company for Driver of the Year, a nationwide Waste Connections award, it was an honor and pleasure to nominate side-load driver, John Stillwell.

An exemplary employee

John has been part of the team since October of 2003, and has stayed a highly skilled professional side-load driver throughout his years at Rogue. While working alongside John, Rogue's leadership team has consistently witnessed his exceptional dedication, proficiency, and reliability in the field.

According to his supervisors, John’s expertise in side-load driving is truly commendable. His meticulous attention to detail ensures safe and efficient operations, reflecting his commitment to delivering high-quality service. He demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities, effectively navigating challenges to ensure service is completed promptly and accurately.

Going above and beyond

He exhibits exceptional customer service and continues to educate his customers on the importance of safe cart placement. Recently, he went above and beyond the call of duty to take time in assisting an elderly gentleman back to his home after witnessing him taking a fall. John's kind instincts prompted him to carefully park his truck, get out and help the gentleman safely home.

Teamwork makes the dream work

Beyond his technical skills, John exhibits outstanding professionalism and teamwork. He communicates effectively with colleagues and customers alike, fostering positive working relationships and contributing to a collaborative work environment. During our recent software/tablet conversion, John represented the team as one of Rogue's driver trainers, he mentored other drivers, shared his knowledge with them and contributed toward the overall success of our team.
