Rogue's 2nd Annual Holiday Bike Build

Rogue Waste Inc. hosted their Second Annual Holiday Bike Build, a tradition started by Waste Connections 25 years ago. To read more about how this tradition started, click here.

This event has become a powerful example of what a community can accomplish when they band together. Employees contributed $1,200, which was matched by Waste Connections’ nonprofit arm, WCNCares, and local vendors generously added another $8,000. With over $10,000 raised, the team was able to purchase 120 bikes and helmets, all of which were assembled and donated to local nonprofits that support children in our community.

On December 13th, more than 100 volunteers — employees, their families, and a crew from TEC Equipment — came together to unbox, build, and test every single bike. (We even had a special guest — Santa!) By the end of the day, the warehouse was lined with bright, ready‑to‑ride bicycles waiting for their new homes.

This year, CASA, ACCESS, Family Nurturing Center, Hearts with a Mission, and the Children’s Advocacy Center partnered with us to ensure each bike reached a child who needed it most. Thanks to their support, we were able to bring joy and hope to countless families this holiday season.
