Good things are growing thanks to a unique partnership rooted in helping others

What do raised beds and root vegetables have to do with Rogue Disposal & Recycling? Simple. We believe in giving back to the people and communities we serve. One of the ways we do that is by providing space for ACCESS Food Share Gardens to grow food — root vegetables like carrots and beets that are distributed to people in need throughout the Rogue Valley.

Emily Mann, the ACCESS Food Share Garden Coordinator, notes that she was able to grow nearly 300 pounds of carrots, onions, radishes and beets at the Transfer Station garden area in White City. Rogue also covered the cost to water the garden and donated plenty of Rogue Compost. “I’m looking forward to taking what I learned this year and improving on production for next season. I will continue to grow beautiful onions and other root vegetables in those lovely raised beds.”

Highly productive community gardens like this help support the nutritional needs of local ACCESS food pantries and partner agencies. Gardens are operated by local community volunteers who plant, maintain and harvest the crops. ACCESS Food Share provides emergency food boxes to families and others in need, and supplies food to more than 20 programs serving low-income individuals in the area.
