Holiday Service Announcement: Thanksgiving

If Thursday, November 28th is your normal collection day, your trash and recycling will be picked up by end of day. Please note, your collection time may be different, so be sure to have your carts out by 6:30am.

While curbside collection will see no changes, our offices will be closing at 3pm Wednesday, November 27th and will remain closed until Monday, December 2nd.

The Transfer Station will be closed on Thanksgiving, but open regular hours on Friday and Saturday.

Here’s to a happy (and delicious) Thanksgiving! Click here for our entire 2024 trash and recycling holiday schedule.

Cleaner Fuel for Cleaner Air

Discover how we are transitioning our fleet of collection trucks to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) — which burns much cleaner than diesel fuel, reducing particulate emissions and lowering the carbon footprint of our trucks.

For more than 80 years, Rogue Disposal & Recycling has been a family-owned leader in providing waste-related services throughout southern Oregon. These days, those services extend well beyond the trash, recycling and yard debris roll carts at the curb, encompassing everything from medical waste and electronics recycling to confidential document shredding, compost and a state-of-the-art regional landfill. To show you what the company behind the carts has been working on, please enjoy this series of short informational videos.

Turning Yard Debris Into Sustainable Compost

Ever wonder what happens to all the leaves, grass clippings and yard debris we collect during the year? Learn how they become a nutritious part of Rogue Compost — the best compost for here because it’s the compost from here.

The Landfill of the Future Is Already Here

Think a landfill is just a big hole in the ground? Think again. The Dry Creek Landfill is a highly engineered facility that incorporates drone mapping, GPS technology and a state of-the-art liner system — all designed to maximize solid waste disposal while protecting the environment.

Converting Landfill Gas Into Renewable Energy

See how naturally occurring biogas from decomposing trash at the Dry Creek Landfill is used to produce electricity for 3,000 local homes — a renewable energy supply that replaces 20,000 tons of coal energy every year.

Benefits of Hi-Tech Trash & Recycling Collection

What do GPS-powered MapSmart technology, on-board computers, and hopper (cameras to check for recycling contamination) have in common? You’ll find them all on our fleet of collection trucks.

Protecting the Air In the Area We Call Home

Knowing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) burns 40% cleaner than diesel fuel, we’re not only converting our collection fleet, but we created one of the region’s only CNG fueling stations — and it’s available to the public, as well as to commercial CNG fleets, helping others join us in pursuit of cleaner Rogue Valley air.
