Heavy Equipment Operator - Rogue Klamath Transfer

Key Position Responsibilities and Accountability
- Material Recovery Operations
- Monitoring and maintaining safe working conditions for employees and customers of the material recovery facility.
- Directing customers to tipping areas.
- Loading out trailers with product.
- Absolutely no salvaging of any material.
- Participate and support training and initiatives to improve service quality, safety, employee and customer relations and operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Responsible for equipment inspection reports on a daily basis.
Position Requirements and Essential Functions:
- A valid driver's license
- Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with air brake endorsement OR the ability to obtain a Class B CDL within 6-months.
- Knowledge and practical skill to safely, effectively and efficiently operate CAT 950, knuckleboom, BobCat skid steer loaders and Hyster forklifts.
- Tolerance to work in extreme weather and environmental conditions - temperature ranges from below freezing to over 110 degrees, including possible windy, dusty conditions.
- Reading, writing and verbal skills required to respond to written and oral instructions and to provide written documentation and information exchange.
- Ability to work at a fast pace, responding to multiple tasks at the same time.
- Skills to communicate effectively with predominantly English speaking employees and customers.
- Ability to lift up to 65 pounds by hand, and work with others and/or machines to lift heavier objects.
- Possession of back, leg, arm and shoulder strength and mobility required to access and operate equipment.
- Capacity to operate the equipment for up to 3 hours at a time, and between 4 and 10 hours in a workday.
- Ability to understand and make reliable decisions regarding the sorting of recyclables, and directing customers.
- Complete and pass random drug and alcohol tests in accord with DOT and company standards.
Conditions of Employment
Candidates for this position must meet the above requirements, meet requirements for a class B Commercial Driver’s License, and successfully pass pre-employment examinations including a drug screen, and physical capacity evaluation.

- Work Schedule: Formal workweek is from Monday - Saturday from 6:30am - 6:00pm | 8-10 hours per day depending upon service demand. Overtime as needed.
- Probationary Period: 90 days
- Drug and Alcohol Testing: Subject to pre-employment drug testing and random selection drug and alcohol testing per Company policy and DOT regulations.
