Seasonal Pay Attendant

Rogue Transfer and Recycling, LLC a Waste Connections Company, is looking for a Seasonal Scale Attendant to join our team!

As a seasonal summer employee, you will provide service to customers as they drive onto the site — including determining load costs, taking payments, answering questions and directing customers to the right areas within the Transfer Station site.

  • Division/Department: Customer Service/Pay Attendant
  • Reports to: Customer Service Manager
  • Location: 8001 Table Rock Road at the Transfer Station in White City
  • Employee Status: Regular part-time
  • Work Schedule: Schedule will vary. Operating hours are 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Employees will be scheduled to work Saturdays.
  • Starting Wages: $20.00+/HR DOE

Key Position Responsibilities and Accountability

  • Operate the Customer Service Center pay window and provide receipts.
  • Monitor access and usage of the transfer station and recycling depot.
  • Inspect waste and recyclables to ensure proper disposal.
  • Determine load sizes and calculate disposal fees.
  • Resolve customer disputes and provides service-related information.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the yard and facility.
  • Balance daily revenue and submit reports to accounting.
  • Secure the facility at the end of the day (locks, alarms, etc.).
  • Participate in training and service improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License with Clean Driving Record
  • Strong reading, writing, and verbal skills to follow instructions and interact with predominantly English-speaking public, including handling conflicts.
  • Ability to work quickly and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in computerized cashiering and inventory systems.
  • Competent in basic math, including handling money and calculating volumes.
  • Familiar with recyclable material criteria, preparation procedures, and alternative disposal options.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials, bloodborne pathogens, and emergency procedures.
  • Punctual, dependable, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Able to lift up to 65 lbs, operate equipment for heavier loads, stand for long periods, climb onto and into vehicles for purposes of load inspection, and move around the facility.
