Transfer Station Spotter/General Laborer

The Spotter/Utility position is the first point of contact for trucks coming onto our site, directing traffic and ensuring a safe working environment. This is a demanding role that requires focus while working outside in the elements.

Key Position Responsibilities and Accountability

• Yard and facility maintenance including debris and clean up
• Picking up litter
• Picking up and sweeping windblown trash
• General site clean up
• Various utility tasks as needed
• Learning the operations of transfer station
• Specific duties can change on the daily basis as operation needs change
• Spotting Trucks

Position Requirements

• At least 2 years of work experience. Preferably in a labor type position.
  
• Experience operating equipment is a plus
  
• Ability to work in all weather conditions throughout entire shift
  
• Mechanical ability a plus.
  
• The ability to continually lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout an 8-10 hr. shift.

• Exposed to different weather year round.
  
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  
• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects of up to 50 lbs.
  
• Knowledge of light equipment operation and maintenance a plus.
  
• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.

Candidates for this position must meet the position requirements and successfully pass pre-employment examinations, including drug screen, physical and physical capacities evaluation.

Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, flexible schedule 40-50 hours per week

Benefits

Wages: $20.00-$22.00 per hour or DOE
